WORSHIP MINISTRIES

Inspire People to Encounter God

The heartbeat of our worship ministry is to inspire people to encounter God. John 4:24 says that God is "seeking" or looking for true, authentic worshipers and this is the reason we desire to be a worshiping church. We want people to live a lifestyle of worship unto God on a daily basis, and we want to put Jesus at the center of our corporate gatherings. Our vision is to set the atmosphere for people to encounter God in the corporate gatherings.

worship [ wur-ship ]: noun

  1. reverent honor and homage paid to God or a sacred personage, or to any object regarded as sacred.
  2. formal or ceremonious rendering of such honor and homage: They attended worship this morning.
  3. adoring reverence or regard: excessive worship of business success.

    ■ Seasonally: order Poinsettias, Easter flowers, Mother's & Father's Day Gifts, Veterans Day roses.

In 2017, the Chancel Guild received a significant Bequest for Sanctuary enhancement. Over five years, It has been used to fund: New Choir Robes, new Hearing-assistance sets, and a major upgrade to the video-projection system, re-upholstering of the Sanctuary pews, completion of the handbell octaves, a new pulpit, and a contribution to Service live-streaming equipment

Chancel Guild meets the 1st Monday at 1:00 pm.

  • Music Ministry consists of the Chancel Choir and the Hand Bell Choir; both being fully restarted during mid-2021. These outstanding choirs perform on Sundays and occasionally hold special concerts. Both the voice and the hand bell choirs always need additional members. Consider joining a choir - you can email Nathan Arch, Director of Music Ministries for more information at Music@cotmmesa.org.

  • Ushers and Greeters are responsible for the warm greeting we receive at the front doors for the 9:00 am service, for helping older and handicapped congregants to their seats, for the collection and safe-keeping of contribution gifts, and for the distribution of individual Communion sets on first-Sundays. New members of this team are welcome and encouraged; please see Head-usher, Heather Ceasar, in the Narthex before or after any service. Since March 2020, Communion is via individual cup/wafer sets. The Communion Prep team, led by Linda Mann, prepares the Communion Table for first-Sundays and Maundy Thursday.

14 "And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. 15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."
